When I was around 5 or 6, I had one of the worst nightmares of my life and it has stayed with me into adulthood. It was set in a much older time, and I was in a crowd of people who were laughing and sneering, but i was sobbing and trying not to puke. I watched as my mother was tied to a giant wheel with spikes in it and then pushed down a hill. I woke up with the awful images seared into me. The feelings were so intense it felt more like a memory than a dream.

At such a young age I had not been exposed to anything like that on TV or at school or anything so I never knew where in the world it came from. (Now I'm one of those woo woo people who believe in past lives so it makes sense to me.)

Only in recent years did I find out about the existence of the breaking wheel (freaked me out and gave me full body chills, of course) from posts like this one! And I had to delve much deeper to confirm that the wheel was sometimes pushed down hill as part of its torture. So wild, even if you don't believe in reincarnation lol
